Friendship is the emotional bond of souls

Mythological

Friends or friendship word is so common that each one of us have heard from our childhood. I feel friendship is the emotional bond of souls.

In this world , everybody is having at least a single relationship with someone . Still most of them feel lonely . This loneliness has become a part of human’s life . To remove this loneliness , everybody use to make a lot of relations , but still some where down in his heart he feel lonely .

A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself.

Jim Morrison

In this life everyone is having a big question that , whom they can trust and believe them as their true friend . Before exploring the answer of this question , we should know what is friendship .

What is Friendship …

What is the real power? Somebody will tell, it’s Shashra (weapon) and somebody will tell it’s Shaashtra (wisdom), then some answers will be brain and some will be brawn. Like that there will be enormous answers to this question. But each of these answers will be incomplete. Because, although these qualities are great, still they are incomplete without each other. The completeness is worth than greatness. Because life is more about completeness and greatness. This completeness is in other words is known as friendship.

Friendship -emotional-bond

If you are lucky enough to get a truthful and trustful friend, then you are the luckiest and richest person in this world. A friend, like a weapon will always be your trustful strength and like a powerful brain will always show you the righteous path. A friend is like a another brain which will always get you out of your problem when yours own brain is not able to think.

That’s why if you want to earn some thing in life then first earn a real friend on whom you can blindly trust. Everyone of us born with a lot of relations which are imposed on us. None of these relations we have chosen for. However, a friend is the only relationship for which we are having complete freedom to choose it.

A friend is the one who will be your true companion on your path of life. He will never leave you and make your journey easy and joyful. A real friend will never think of his profit or loss, only he enjoys your companionship. A true friend will warn and take you out from the wrong path and shows you the correct path, without thinking of self. That’s why we used to tell Friendship is emotional bond of souls.

In this world a lot of people around you claim to be your best friend. however, a best friend will never claim, because he don’t want anything from you. Because advertisement is to sell a product, and friendship is not a product for sale. The friendship is very eternal like love.

To emphasize the meaning of friendship, i would like to share the story of two true friends, who were having a beautiful friendship. This story will explains you that the friendship is actually the emotional bond of souls.

The story of Krishna and Sudama

Lord shree Krishna was the king of Dwarka in Treta yuga. He was the incarnation of Hindu mythological God Vishnu. During Krishna childhood days, he was having a friend named Sudama. Both of them although from different status, used to be very good friend. Both of them play together, study together and do all types of mischieveous activities together. As the time passes, both of them grow and gone back to their respective places.

On one side Krishna, who was the son of a king got the kingdom to rule. Where as Sudama was the son of poor brahmin. The livelihood of Sudama was very difficult, he was living in utter poverty. After the marriage of Sudama to Susila, they had lot of kids to feed for. In this poverty with the responsibility of feeding the family, the life was getting difficult day by day.

One day Sudama’s wife Susila got very upset on their condition and their kids’ health. Susila was not able to bear the pain of their kids’ condition. She pleaded Sudama to get some financial help from his childhood friend Krishna. However Sudama was reluctant to take help from his friend Krishna. But as a husband and father, he was feeling very helpless. Then, finally he decided to go to meet and seek some help for his family from Krishna.

On deciding to meet his old friend, Sudama asked his wife that after a very long time i am going to meet my friend, Krishna. so, definitely I should take some gift for him. On hearing this Susila got into thoughts that they are not having anything to gift to Krishna. There was only some rice powder in the home, that Susila put into the cloth as a gift for Krishna.

Sudama took that cloth and went to Dwarka by walking for days. After reaching Dwarka, he was astonished by the beauty and grandness of Dwarka. He was feeling very hesitated to meet Krishna, but to save his family he has to meet Krishna. With this thought in mind, Sudama approaches the gatekeeper of the palace. He told them, that he wants to meet Krishna. On enquiring, the gatekeeper started laughing at Sudama that Lord Krishna is his childhood friend. However, Sudama was determined to meet Krishna. He requested gatekeepers to send the message to Lord Krishna that his childhood friend Sudama came to meet him.

All other people around the gate started laughing and made jokes of Sudama. However, after repeated request, the gate keeper took the message to Lord Krishna. When Lord Krishna came to know that his friend Sudama came to meet him. Immediately without putting any chappals or shoes, he started running to meet his friend. The palace was so huge that it took minutes to reach to the gate, where Sudama was waiting. Since, it took a lot of time, Sudama thought that Lord Krishna also don’t want to meet his poor friend Sudama. On thought of this, Sudama started leaving the palace.

Suddenly, the gate keepers and everybody got surprised that the almightly Lord Krishna was running to meet Sudama. Sudama also got surprised and happy that he is able to meet his friend Krishna. Immediately, after meeting Sudama, Krishna took him to his palace.

He asked Sudama to sit on the throne and asked his wife Rukamini to bring water so that he can wash his feet. Then Krishna got a lot of delicious food for Sudama to eat for, that he feeded him with his hands.

Lord Krishna was very happy to meet his friend Sudama. After a lot of talks between the two friends of their childhood days. Lord Krishna asks Sudama, what he brought for him. With a lot of hesitation, Sudama took the cloth having powdered rice what his wife Susila has given for Krishna. On seeing this, Lord Krishna immediately open the cloth and ate a handful of rice from it. Both of the friends were very happy.

Krishna & Sudama as friends

But, still the Sudama was not able to ask for help from Krishna. And after request from Krishna to stay back at his palace. Sudama stayed for some days and left back to his home.

On the way back to his home, he was having mixed feeling of happiness that he has meet his childhood friend and sad also that he was not able to complete his responsibility as a husband and father. On reaching his home, he was surprised to see that there is a big beautiful house instead of his wrecked thatched house. When he entered inside, he was surprised to see that his wife and kids are dressed in beautiful dress, all seems to be very happy.

Immediately, he understood that all this is done by Lord Krishna. Even without telling his problem to his friend, he gifted him the best of life.

Sudama was very happy to have such a great friend.

That’s why a real friend is worth than money, power and every materialistic thing in this world. Better to have a single best friend than many. Because friendship is emotional bond of souls, and the soul can’t be share with many peoples.
